Smoked White Cheddar and Thyme Biscuits

Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 teaspoon Argo® Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons leaf thyme
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 cup shredded smoked white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chives
- 3/4 cup butter, slightly softened
- 1-1/4 cups buttermilk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Blend together flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, thyme and poultry seasoning in a large bowl. Stir in cheese and chives. Cut in butter until only small pieces remain. Add buttermilk; stir just until moistened.
- Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead dough 5 to 6 times, just until dough holds together. Gently pat or roll into an 8 by 8-inch square. Cut into 12 pieces. Place on lightly greased baking sheet about 1-inch apart. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until biscuits are lightly browned.
- Serve hot from the oven with butter. Or, cool for 15 minutes, slice and top with roast turkey and cranberry sauce for a delightful sandwich.
